LED Lighting

If you currently light your office or factory using standard fluorescent light fittings, then by exploiting recent advances in LED lighting technology, we could help you reduce your energy usage by up to one half.

This is done by replacing the tubes in your existing light fittings with LED tubes that offer several advantages:

- Half the running cost.
- Longer life, reducing your maintenance bills.
- Starts virtually instantly at full brightness, and with no flicker while running.
- Lower power reduces the load on your air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Robust design.

We can match or improve your current installation in terms of brightness and colour temperature.

Fitting is very simple, in most cases using your existing light fittings. By making small modifications to the light fittings, an extra saving can be made.

You will reduce your lighting energy usage by up to a half immediately, and we aim to show you a payback time of 3 to 4 years..
Fluorescent tubes are the familiar strip lights that have been extensively used since about 1940. They are mostly produced in lengths of 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 feet, and are often arranged in clusters.
LED tubes are typically rated at half the power of their fluorescent equivalents, whilst producing the same light output.
The life of a fluorescent tube is typically 5000 hours, whereas the LED tubes are expected to last 50,000 hours. This is over 16 years, if the tubes are run for 10 hours a day, 300 days a year
Generally, air conditioning systems use about 1kw to remove 3kw of heat, so by halving your lighting power, you will also significantly reduce the load on air conditioning, saving more energy
LED tubes are inherently safer due to the robust, plastic construction and use fewer hazardous substances.
For example: A typical small office installation uses 100 x 58W fluorescent tubes for 10 hours a day 300 days/year. They pay 12p/unit (kWh), total cost per year being £2088.
Replacing with the equivalent LED tubes would cost in the region of £5000. These would consume 27W per tube = £972 per year, saving £1116.
The new lights are eligible for ECA so if the company is paying tax at 28% then 28% of the invoice value can be claimed against tax in the first year bringing the cost to the company down to £3600. This gives a payback time of 3.2 years.
